Most leaders are inspired by a cause that is greater than themselves. A Gandhi, a Nelson Mandela or a Martin Luther King would never be able do what they did if they were only concerned about themselves.
Most business leaders think the same way too. Although we tend to view them as capitalists who are only bothered about themselves, the reality is that most leaders of large companies do what they do, because they have a cause that is larger than themselves or their immediate family.
An Ambani, a Tata or a Birla don’t need to take the kind of risks that they do everyday if they were only bothered about themselves.
“Be satisfied with what you have” is probably the wrong advice to give such people.
