Do artists really need to scale up?
Scaling-up works when the goal is mass production.
But mass production usually comes at a cost; loss of artistry.
If what you are running is a factory; then yes; Scalability matters. The more the numbers, the better the efficiency. The more the workers, the better the production.
This is, however, very different from an artist whose soul is nourished by creativity.
When artists try to scale up; try to run a factory; the soul usually takes a back seat.
The room for artists to scale up is much narrower than we think.
